Put your goal on the line. With friends.
Put money in a pot with friends on a health goal. Your phone checks your progress. Hit it and your stake comes back. Miss it and it goes to charity.

How it works
Three steps. No willpower apps, no leaderboards of strangers — just you, your friends and a little money on the line.
Put money in
Pick a goal with friends — like 8,000 steps a day or 4 workouts a week — and each put in a stake from $10 to $200.
Your phone checks
Won reads your steps and workouts from Apple Health automatically. Weight goals use a quick photo-and-video weigh-in.
Hit it, get it back
Hit your goal and your whole stake goes back to your card. Miss it, and it goes to the charity your group picked.
Questions
Is this gambling?
Won is designed not to be. You only ever put in your own stake, and what happens to it depends only on whether you hit your own goal — not on luck, and not on anyone else losing.
Hit your goal and your stake is refunded to your card in full. Miss it and your stake is donated to the charity picked for the pot. Nobody ever gets anyone else’s money. Won holds missed stakes only until it donates them; Won never keeps them. Won’s only income is a flat $2.99 fee per person per pot.
What does Won cost?
$2.99 per person per pot, added to your stake at checkout (for example “$50 stake + $2.99 fee”). The fee isn’t refunded when you hit your goal or if you drop out before the start. You get it back only if the pot is cancelled because not enough people paid (group pots need at least 2).
How does my phone check my progress?
With your permission, Won reads daily step counts and workouts from Apple Health (Health Connect on Android, coming later). Steps or workouts typed in by hand don’t count. Only daily totals leave your phone, never your location. Weight goals use a short weigh-in: a photo of your scale plus a 3-second video with a fresh code word, checked by a person at Won, or by Won’s AI check if you choose it.
When do I get my money back?
Pots run 7–60 days. After a pot ends there’s a 48-hour grace period to finish syncing or do your final weigh-in. Then your stake is refunded to the card you paid with. Banks usually show refunds within 5–10 business days.
Where does missed money go?
To the charity picked when the pot was created. Won sends donations monthly and publishes running totals on the charities page.
Can I drop out?
Before the pot starts, yes — your stake comes back to your card. The $2.99 fee isn’t refunded. Once it has started, your stake follows the normal rules: refunded if you hit the goal, donated if you miss. Full details are in the pot rules.
What’s a solo pot?
A pot just for you: the same goals, stakes, fee and charity rules as a group pot. Hit your goal and your stake comes back; miss it and it goes to the charity you picked. It starts once you’ve paid.
What’s a witness?
Someone you invite to follow your progress and cheer you on, in a solo or a group pot: up to 5 people for a solo pot, and up to 2 for each member of a group pot. You approve each person before they see anything. They see your progress (never weights, photos or payments, and nothing about money), can send up to 3 cheers a day, and never pay anything. Remove them any time from “Who can see your progress” on the pot; they can stop following any time.
Can I switch a pot between solo and group?
No, you choose when you create it. A group pot that starts with only you paid is cancelled and refunded, fee included.
How do I add friends?
Anyone who has paid into the same pot as you is your Won friend — no requests. To add someone you’re with, open Friends → My Won code in the app and let them scan it with the Won app or their iPhone Camera: you’re Won friends right away, both ways. The code changes every minute, so a screenshot stops working.
Does Won save my card?
Only if you tick the box on Stripe’s payment page. Stripe keeps the card, not Won, and nothing is ever charged without you confirming a payment. Remove saved cards in the app under Settings → Payment methods.
Why does Won need my email?
To send your receipts, your results, refunds and important account news. We never sell it and never send ads.
How do I change my email?
Write to help@wewon.app from your new address. We’ll confirm by text to the phone number on your account, then change it.
What’s a passkey?
A passkey lets you sign in with Face ID or Touch ID instead of a code. It’s saved in your iCloud Keychain. Won only stores a public key, which can’t be used to sign in on its own, and never sees your face or fingerprint.
I deleted my account. How do I remove the passkey?
Open the Passwords app on your iPhone, search for wewon.app and delete the passkey.
What do Won’s notifications show?
By default they never show amounts, step counts, weights, pot names or results, so nothing personal sits on your Lock Screen. Turn on Show details in Settings → Notifications to see how a pot or check-in turned out. They never mention money either way, and you choose which kinds you get.
Can I connect my WHOOP account to Won?
Not at the moment. Won uses what WHOOP shares with Apple Health.
Are weight-loss goals safe?
Weight goals are capped at 1% of your body weight per week and 10% in total, and Won never offers “gain” or extreme goals. Won is not a medical service, so check with your doctor before starting a weight-loss goal.
If food, eating or your body feels hard right now, please skip weight pots and reach out to the National Alliance for Eating Disorders helpline at 1-866-662-1235 or allianceforeatingdisorders.com. In a crisis, call or text 988.
Who can join?
Adults 18 and over in the US. Won is launching on iPhone first, with Android after. Won isn’t available in every state yet — join the waitlist below and we’ll let you know.
What stops people from cheating?
Hand-entered data doesn’t count, unusual days (like 50,000+ steps) are reviewed, weigh-ins need a fresh code word on video, and friends in the pot can flag anything that looks off. Results can be appealed once, within 48 hours, by emailing help@wewon.app.
Who checks my weigh-in pictures?
A person at Won, or, if you choose it, Won’s AI check: Claude, made by Anthropic, which only reads the number on your scale, and never decides against you. Until you choose, a person checks every picture. You can change your choice any time in the app under Settings → Privacy.
